New MD for Lloyds TSB Middle East

Lloyds TSB has announced that it has appointed Bert de Ruiter as managing director for its Dubai based Middle East operations. Mr de Ruiter has worked with Lloyds TSB, one of the world's largest banking groups for over ten years. Lloyds TSB Middle East employs more than 250 people providing a range of financial services including: personal banking, business banking, corporate banking, offshore banking, private banking, treasury services and trade finance services. The head of the International Private Bank in Dubai is Manoj Kapur. Prior to his role as wholesale banking director of Lloyds TSB Middle East, he was senior head of Lloyds TSB corporate banking in the Netherlands. He started his financial services career in 1989 with AMEV Nederland NV, now Fortis. In 1992, he joined ABN Amro Bank NV in the Netherlands and thereafter moved to Lloyds Bank in 1997. He was appointed senior account manager in 1998 with responsibility for Lloyds TSB's Rotterdam branch. Mr de Ruiter was promoted to a corporate banking role within the Lloyds TSB Group in 2000.
